Hi,

Is this on the export process? What version of SQLAzureMW are you using? What version of SQL Server tools are you running SQLAzureMW on?

When you say large database, are you talking 1000s of tables? Have you tried SQLAzureMW on a smaller db? This is definitely strange and should not be happening.

Sorry for the trouble,
George

Ohhh, one last thing, do you have any strange characters in your password??? If so, you don't have to give me your password, but just an example with the strange characters.

Thanks,
George

Well, I have used both the version
"SQLAzureMW v4.0.18 Release Binary for SQL Server 2012" and "SQLAzureMW v3.9.14 Release Binary".
Yes in password have one special character I cannot Share the password but special character is @.
Yes I tried on small DB, like 25 tables with 900 records it works. But for large db(Same schema->25 table) with like 10000 in 2-3 tables(relational data) records it give above error.

Also, regarding the password, it connects for the first time, the above error occurs when generating the scripts. I tried like 10 times but this error persists.

Also one success occurring also happens but it cannot retrieve the data, it creates only schema.

Let me know if you require more details

Hi Bharat,

I have the same special character in my password, so we will rule that out. I have large databases that I migrate with 500,000,000 records in them, so 10,000 should not be an issue. If you do a test run, can you click on the "Advanced" button and Under "Table/View Options" change "Script Table / Data" from "Table Schema with Data" to "Table Schema Only"? That will take BCP out of the picture. I am assuming that you are exporting from a local SQL Server database, not from SQL Azure???

Thanks,
George

No its not working.

"can you click on the "Advanced" button and Under "Table/View Options" change "Script Table / Data" from "Table Schema with Data" to "Table Schema Only"" Yes I have done that. As I told you before.

NO I AM NOT EXPORTING FROM LOCAL DATABASE. ITS AZURE DATABASE INSTANCE

Hi Bharat,

I found the problem and I am working on a fix. But for right now, can you bypass this problem by not entering the database. Just default to the master database and then select the database you want to export. This should work.

I will work on the fix and get it uploaded as soon as possible.

Sorry, for the problems.

OK,

I will try above step " bypass this problem by not entering the database. Just default to the master database and then select the database you want to export." and will update you

Its only creating the schema of the database selected not the insert script, by following below steps

" bypass this problem by not entering the database. Just default to the master database and then select the database you want to export."

Hi Bharat,

I uploaded my fix. Please download and see if it works for you. If this still does not solve the problem, I would like to suggest that we do a Skype call (if you don't mind). This problem is taking to long to solve and I am sure it is frustrating you.

Thanks,
George

I am mentioning the name of database this time, no selection from the list. Its still in the phase of "Sorting object by dependency"

Lets cross fingers this time :)
