Failed to connect to Database when connect to sqlazure

description

I saw one issue has exactly same problem.

what i want to do is generate script.
 
it works good if i migrate sql server to sql azure.
 
but when i want to generate script from sql azure. it never works.
 
i installed mssql 2008 r2 sp1 on many machine, os system, and even i installed sql server 2012, but not works on all of them :(
 
the same exception occur when i work on management studio (SSMS)
 
please give me help.

Hi,

The problem is that SMO currently does not support collation in SQL Azure. What I have found that does work in exporting your SQL Azure (non default collation) database is to use SQL Server 2012 "Extract Data-tier Application". It will successfully create .dacpac file. You can also use SQL Server 2012 "Deploy Database to SQL Azure". Both of these commands can be found when you right mouse click on your SQL Azure database and look under "Tasks".
