Migrating FROM SQL Azure

description

I had to alter the BCPArgsOut to get the prgram to Extract data FROM a SQL Azure database because the -d switch was not being recognised.

This is what worked for me: value="{2}.{0} out {1} -E -n

Actually this only worked for getting the data from an Azure table...I coudl not get the script to then successfully BCP the data back into the new SQL table. I might just have to wait until the Azure team implements the database copy commands.

SQLAzureMW requires BCP version 10.50.1600.1 which supports a new d (database) option. The old versions of BCP do not support the d option. Sometimes, a user can have both version of BCP on their system but the PATH points to the old version not the new. In that case, be sure to modify the PATH to point to the new version of BCP, not the old version.

Sorry for slow response,
