Hi,

I believe that you need to be running on a machine that has SQL Server 2008 R2 on it.  See: http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2008/en/us/R2Downloads.aspx.  If you have that and it is still not working, please let me know.

George

Hi,

Am getting the same exception. Am using SQL Server 2008 Express SP1. Is it not supported ?

Hi,

No, you need SQL Server 2008 R2 because it has the bits to work with SQL Azure.

 Hi,

Thank you very much. With SQL 2008 R2, it worked like a charm ! Does it work with SQL 2008 Express R2 also ?  I had to change my sql to 2008 R2 evaluation version for now.

Hi,

Yes, it should work with SQL Server 2008 Express R2 as well.
Let me know if you have any problems.

Thanks,
George
