Infamous 'Could not find number of records copied. File will not be uploaded.' on all machines with latest build (3.3.9)

Oct 7, 2010 at 1:32 PM

Hi,

we are having big trouble getting the latest release to run properly on all our machines. We always get 'Could not find number of records copied. File will not be uploaded.' without any additional data.

The .dat files get generated but the tool cannot upload the files - not sure why.

Any help is really appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Christian,

Bring up a command window and type in BCP /v.  What you should see is version 10.50.1600.1.  The older version of BCP do not support the -d switch (which I used to specify the database).  In my case, I have both versions on my machine.  You just need to make sure that your PATH is update to point to the newer version of BCP and you should be good to go.

George

Thanks,
